CORPORATE SERVICES - INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY (IS&T)
PRINCIPAL PROFESSIONAL OFFICER: FIXED NETWORKS
TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R1 307 905 TO R1 818 870 PER ANNUM - REF NO: CS 11/26 - CAPE TOWN CIVIC CENTRE
Requirements:
- A relevant three-year professional tertiary ICT qualification, in Electronic Engineering (Specialising in Telecommunications) or a National Diploma/degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
- Project Management will be an advantage
- Minimum eight (8) years' relevant industry experience, of which at least two (2 years must be at a senior level
- Computer literacy in MS Office and SAP
- Valid driver's licence will be an advantage.
Key performance areas:
- Provide technical expertise in Data Centre equipment, Local Area Network and Wi-Fi solutions in the Fixed Networks Infrastructure Branch
- Manage technical projects, ensuring adherence to standards, specifications, and SOPs
- Provide input into project requirements, tender specifications, and adjudication of tenders
- Ensure supervision as technical team lead to drive solution implementation and problem resolution
- Support management to ensure effective and efficient operations within the Networks domain
- Deliver maintenance and support to the business
- Implement, monitor and manage service level agreements with internal and external parties
- Ensure adequate documentation and reporting in line with SOPs and requirements
- Manage and monitor the capital and operating budget of the Fixed Networks section
- Identify and escalate operational risks impacting service delivery
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations
- Manage assets and inventory
- Ensure compliance with telecommunications processes and procedures.
