About the position

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Cloud Architect with deep expertise in AWS, and strong working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions. While AWS remains the primary focus, this role requires the ability to operate across multi-cloud environments, with exposure to GCP being highly beneficial. The successful candidate will serve as a key technical authority, driving architecture decisions and enabling enterprise cloud transformation initiatives.


 


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade cloud architectures on Amazon Web Services (primary focus)
  • Provide architectural guidance and support for solutions leveraging Google Cloud Platform where applicable
  • Define cloud architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices across the organisation
  • Lead cloud migration, modernization, and cloud-native transformation initiatives
  • Design scalable, secure, and highly available systems across multi-cloud environments
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure governance, compliance, and zero-trust principles
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Review and approve architecture designs and ensure alignment with enterprise standards
  • Mentor and guide architecture and engineering teams
  • Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and provide strategic recommendations
 


 


Technical Skills & Experience


  • 10+ years in IT with at least 5+ years in cloud architecture roles
  • Strong AWS experience (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, EKS, etc.)
  • Working experience with Google Cloud Platform services (e.g., Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC)
  • Solid understanding of multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architecture patterns
  • Strong background in cloud networking, identity, and security architecture
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of microservices, containers, and serverless architecture patterns
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, and automation frameworks
  • Familiarity with enterprise governance, compliance, and architecture frameworks



Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • AWS Solutions Architect – Professional (preferred)
  • Google Cloud certification (Associate or Professional Architect) advantageous
  • Additional certifications in Azure or enterprise architecture (TOGAF) beneficial
