Principal Civil Engineer

About the position

A senior opportunity is available for a Professional Civil Engineer to provide technical direction and project leadership on a diverse portfolio of development and municipal infrastructure work in Cape Town. Our client is seeking a Pr Eng who can operate confidently at Principal level while remaining closely involved in the technical delivery of projects.

What You'll Need

• ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng).
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• 8+ years of relevant consulting engineering experience is preferred with exposure to civil infrastructure relating to buildings, developments and municipal services.
• Practical design experience in:
• Road and access systems
• Earthworks and site platforms
• Stormwater and drainage networks
• Sewer systems and wastewater infrastructure
• Strong Civil 3D capability and an appreciation of BIM-driven project delivery.
• Proven ability to develop, review and sign off technical engineering documentation where applicable.
• Structural engineering exposure would be an added advantage
• Familiarity with City of Cape Town projects and approval procedures would be advantageous.

The Role
In this position, you will be responsible for providing senior technical input while guiding projects and people through the various stages of delivery.
