Hire Resolve's Client is seeking to hire a Premium Administrator to join their team in Bryanston. The Premium Administrator supports the Financial Manager in ensuring that all premium-related financial transactions are accurately processed and recorded in a timely manner. To support the Financial Manager in managing premium-related processes, including refunds, insurer payments, debit order collections, and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:Unpaid Premiums
- Notify the relevant underwriting party.
- Cancel policies as per predefined rules.
- Inform clients of actions taken, such as double debits, forced debits, or cancellations.
Bank Reconciliation
- Allocate daily deposits reflected on bank statements from the premium collection provider.
- Maintain the premium age analysis and liaise with underwriters.
- Take appropriate actions on premiums outstanding for more than 45 days.
Refunds
- Validate the legitimacy of refund requests.
- Process and record refunds on the Policy Administration System.
- Forward refund requests to the Financial Manager for release.
Insurer Payments
- Download bordereaux reports.
- Prepare and submit payment schedules to insurers.
- Distribute bordereaux to insurers.
Manual/Non-Binder/Non-Collection Policies
- Allocate premiums received directly by insurers using commission statements as references.
Team Collaboration and Culture:- Demonstrate behaviour that aligns with the organisation’s values and culture.
- Share knowledge of products, systems, and processes with team members.
- Work collaboratively with the Claims team to maintain service excellence.
Process Improvement and Compliance:- Comply with all internal policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement and suggest enhancements.
Requirements:Education:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Finance-related qualification preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a Premium Administrator or Accounts Assistant role within an insurance brokerage or administrator.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with premium collections and bordereaux preparation is advantageous.
Languages:
- Proficient in both English and Afrikaans (verbal and written).
Core Competencies:Knowledge:
- Sound understanding of short-term insurance and premium processes in a binder environment.
- Familiarity with the financial services industry.
- Knowledge of FICA and POPIA compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
