Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Investments, or related field (CFA or FRM advantageous).
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of trading experience within financial markets.
Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of equity markets, fixed income, FX, and derivatives.
- FSCA regulatory knowledge and relevant trading licenses preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with portfolio managers and financial advisors to understand client mandates, ensuring trades align with each client’s investment objectives and restrictions.
- Implement tactical asset allocation decisions and rebalancing activities as directed by the investment committee.
- Execute trades across JSE and global markets in equities, bonds, currencies, commodities, and derivatives.
- Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and news that impact investment portfolios.
- Maintain and manage trading systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations (FSCA, JSE, SARB).
- Work closely with portfolio managers, analysts, and risk teams to implement investment strategies.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly trading reports for management and clients.
- Monitor liquidity, pricing, and settlement processes to minimize operational risk.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, banks, and counterparties.
- Ensure adherence to internal risk limits, compliance standards, and investment mandates.
- Provide input into investment strategy through market insights and trade ideas.
- Advise and manage execution only clients for financial advisors
- Advise clients on investment opportunities, portfolio strategies, and market trends.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring trust and confidence in financial advice.
- Monitor client portfolios, provide performance updates, and recommend rebalancing when required.
- Stay up to date with FSCA and JSE regulations, ensuring all client transactions are compliant.
