About the position

Introduction

The purpose of this role is to lead the Signature Brands POS and BI Support team to drive system functionality, support the Brands to coordinate POS (Point of Sale) system information and drive operational efficiency. To implement, maintain, upgrade & troubleshoot the POS Systems, further responsible for end-to-end Menu Management process (Recipes, Costings, Pricing, GP calculations). Update all BI tools as and when required and drive insights for the respective brands.

Duties & Responsibilities

POS (POINT OF SALE):

  • Drive Point of Sale (POS) systems functionality and support in achieving the Group's overall strategic objectives. Understand and adhere to Famous Brands POS methodology, and framework
  • Ensure that the POS portfolio across all brands is managed to ensure uniform POS installation, efficient transmission of info to store level, management of internal POS database management and technology support where needed.
  • Technical: Drive the resolution of technical issues experienced with all POS systems, along with new software releases. Provide technological support when integration with POS systems is required. Understand the relevant applications within the tech environment that are integrated with the POS systems. Remain abreast of key trends and developments relevant to POS environments.
  • POS Databases: Management of outsourced POS databases, where applicable
  • POS Vendors: Act as a liaison between the Franchise network and POS Vendor for support escalations. Guide the resolution process.
  • Menu Pricing: Participate in and support price change discussions at National Franchisee Forums and overseeing the annual menu pricing process. Produce successful menu launches bi-annually, inclusive of accurately captured input costs and RSP.
  • POS Briefs: Ensure menu and promotion POS Briefs are completed and sent to the POS Vendors and 3rd party delivery partners timeously.
  • Ad hoc Investigations: Assist with ad hoc investigations (exception-based reporting).

MENU MANAGEMENT:

  • Utilize the Menu Matrix to drive efficiencies within the team's output.
  • Menu Management Tool: Create and maintain menu matrixes across all Brands. Continuously focus on improving the pricing process, striving for optimal efficiency. Ensure that controls are in place for all menus and recipe maintenance in accordance with the Flowcharts provided by the Brand.
  • Recipes & Costings: Create the recipes, calculate Cost of Sales (COS), Gross profit (GP%), provide RSP recommendation and run cost impact analysis.
  • Gross Profit Margins: Analyze and report on Gross Profit as required by Brand.
  • Sign Off: Ensure physical, online, POS databases menu and promotion compliance to brief.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and deliver monthly, weekly, ad hoc, GP analysis, Audit requirements.

POSI UPLOADER:

  • Monitor the receipt of daily transaction files from all restaurants (FB Connect)
  • Business Errors: Responsible for fixing all Business errors in error logs. Implement control to mitigate business risk and eliminate the number of error files.
  • Master data: Responsible for the integrity of the data that comes through the POSI uploader, by ensuring that the Dimension Manager is kept up to date.

BI MANAGEMENT

  • Update BI Tools on a daily, weekly and monthly basis by brand
  • Align best practice and insights across the brands within Signature Brands
  • Assist with data and sales requirements for all brands in Signature Brands

SPECIAL PROJECTS:

  • Consumer facing Tech Projects linked to POS integrations.
  • Support in the execution of all Consumer Facing Tech Hub projects.

Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Matric essential
  • Suitable Degree or Equivalent
  • 5 years and more experience in POS functionality (Cloud-based)
  • Extensive knowledge of POS testing strategies
  • Experience maintaining POS systems
  • Experience with BI Tracker
  • Experience and knowledge of food cost calculations
