ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications & Registration
- PIRB Registration:
- Valid registration with Plumbing Industry Registration Board
- Trade qualification in plumbing or equivalent experience
- Valid driver's license
Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in plumbing management role
- Proven track record in construction/development projects
- Experience with residential and/or commercial plumbing systems
- Experience issuing Certificates of Compliance
Technical Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of South African plumbing codes and regulations
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with various plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, gas, etc.)
- Knowledge of modern plumbing materials and installation techniques

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- Post-trade qualifications in plumbing or construction management
- Previous experience in Limpopo Province
- Knowledge of green building/water-efficient systems
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, project management software)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Management
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all plumbing installations and maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with South African National Building Regulations and plumbing codes
- Review and approve plumbing drawings, specifications, and material requirements
- Conduct quality inspections and testing of plumbing systems
- Troubleshoot complex plumbing issues and implement effective solutions
Regulatory Compliance
- Issue Certificates of Compliance (CoCs) for all completed plumbing work
- Ensure all installations meet SANS standards and municipal requirements
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and certifications
- Liaise with municipal authorities and regulatory bodies as required
Team Leadership
- Manage and supervise plumbing teams and subcontractors
- Conduct daily briefings and safety meetings
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior plumbers
- Coordinate work schedules to meet project deadlines
Health & Safety
- Implement and maintain strict health and safety protocols
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with OHS Act
- Investigate and report any incidents or near-misses
- Ensure all team members use appropriate PPE
