About the position
Southern Wind Shipyard is looking to appoint a qualified Plumber to join our team in the installation of pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems and fixtures. The successfull candidate will also be required to perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems, identify and diagnose plumbing problems using the appropriate tools and techniques and ensure that all work complies with best practice and safety standards.
Desired Skills:
- Trade Tested Plumber
- 3 to 5 years experience as a plumber
- experience in marine industry is preferable
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems
- Including water supply and drainage
- grey water systems
- black water systems and fresh water systems
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Familiarity with PVC
- CPVC
- PEX
- Bronze
- stainless steel and copper
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in basic maths and measurement conversion
Desired Work Experience:
- 2 to 5 years Plumber, Pipe & Steam Fitting
