Plant Supervisor

About the position

Job Summary:
Packing Plant Supervisor required to oversee production activities and ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards. ?The incumbent will facilitate inter-departmental relationships for organisational growth and effective communication to foster a supportive team environment and encourage collaboration.

Key Performance Indicators include quality output; reduction of non-conformances; accuracy of work; customer service levels and reduction of customer complaints; and Food Safety and Quality Culture.

Reports to the Processing Manager

Requirements:

• Relevant Supervisory experience
• Computer literate
• FMCG, Manufacturing sector experience is ESSENTIAL
• Proven ability to manage, maintain and deliver against Customer requirements
• Analytical skills

Responsibilities:

• Production and Operations Management:
• Production planning and execution
• Communicate daily production objectives and assess staffing needs
• Ensure efficient operation of production lines and report any disruptions
• Efficiency and Resource Management:
• Implement efficient use of resources to minimise waste and costs
• Coordinate with line leaders to optimise resource utilisation
• Equipment and Flow Management:
• Ensure all equipment and machinery are in proper working order, report faults or breakdowns immediately to minimise downtime
• Supervise the correct and safe use of all tools and equipment by the team
• Maintain a smooth and uninterrupted flow of products through the plant to prevent contamination
• Monitor and manage the removal of all reject or non-conforming products from the line in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Quality, Safety and Hygiene Compliance:
• Enforce adherence to SOPs and safety regulations, including PPE usage
• Conduct hygiene inspections and collaborate with cleaning teams for cleanliness
• Compliance and Reporting
• Team Leadership and Supervision:
• Performance Management
• Supervise team performance and address non-performance issues
• Provide on-the-job training and identify development needs for team members
