About the position
ENVIRONMENT:
ENSURE safe site operation and efficient facility management activities as a Plant Manager sought by a premier Distributor of Healthcare Products for a fast-paced Sports Nutrition Manufacturing environment at its site in Uniondale. You will ensure the quality and food safety of products and that the site operates in full compliance with regulatory and company standards, supporting both production and warehouse. Leveraging CIN7 as the central ERP system, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, maintain site infrastructure, and foster a culture of safety and operational excellence across all functions. The successful incumbent must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management/Engineering/Facilities Management, or a related field preferred with proven experience in Operations or Facility Management within manufacturing, preferably food, beverage, or sports nutrition sectors. You will also require hands-on experience with CIN7, or similar ERP/Facility Management systems is essential & strong knowledge of food safety, Health & Safety, and environmental regulations.
DUTIES:
Facility Management –
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all physical assets, utilities, and equipment. Coordinate with external vendors for facility-related services and ensure all site infrastructure complies with health, safety, and FSSC requirements.
Operational Oversight –
- Manage daily operations across production and warehouse areas, ensuring workflows are optimized and resources are allocated efficiently. Monitor process adherence and resolve operational bottlenecks swiftly.
ERP System Utilization –
- Use CIN7 for real-time tracking of facility maintenance schedules, inventory movements, and operational KPIs.
- Analyse dashboard data to inform decisions and support process improvements.
Safety & Compliance –
- Implement and enforce Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), food safety and quality (FSSC 22000) and environmental programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits (OHS), risk assessments, and lead corrective action plans to ensure a safe workplace with minimal incidents.
Inventory & Asset Management –
- Oversee the management of critical spare parts, facility supplies, and site inventory.
- Ensure accurate records in CIN7 and reconcile discrepancies between physical and system counts.
Continuous Improvement –
- Identify inefficiencies in operational or facility processes, propose solutions, and lead improvement projects.
- Leverage CIN7 analytics and cross-functional input to drive productivity and reduce costs.
Team Leadership –
- Lead, mentor, and develop site operations, maintenance, and facilities staff.
- Promote a culture of accountability, training, and professional growth.
Vendor & Contractor Management –
- Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with external service providers for maintenance, cleaning, security, and facility upgrades.
- Ensure vendors adhere to company standards and safety requirements.
Budget Management –
- Develop and manage facility and operations budgets.
- Monitor expenditures, forecast needs, and implement cost-control measures.
Emergency Preparedness –
- Maintain and regularly review site emergency response plans and coordinate periodic drills to ensure readiness for incidents or disruptions.
Reporting –
- Track and report key operational and facility KPIs—including downtime, maintenance completion rates, safety incidents, and corrective actions—using CIN7 and other analytics tools to drive transparency and performance.
Other -
- Implement process enhancements and oversee cost-saving and other projects.
- Serve as liaison across stakeholders, including Sales, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance teams.
- Other ad hoc duties.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications –
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
Experience/Skills –
- Proven experience in Operations or Facility Management within manufacturing, preferably food, beverage, or sports nutrition sectors.
- Hands-on experience with CIN7 or similar ERP/Facility Management systems is essential.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, Health & Safety, and Environmental regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Analytical mindset with a record of implementing process improvements and achieving operational KPI targets.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with production, warehouse, QA, and external vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
