About the position
We are seeking two experienced Plant Managers to oversee full operations of our recycling manufacturing plants in Rustenburg and Randfontein. The successful candidates will be accountable for the end-to-end management of the site, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with health and safety standards, and continuous business growth opportunities.
Role Description
- Full Site Management: Take overall responsibility for daily plant operations, including production, logistics, and maintenance.
- Health & Safety: Serve as the appointed 16.2 Responsible Person, ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all related legislation.
- Production & Quality: Monitor production processes to achieve output, quality, and cost targets while minimising downtime.
- Transport & Logistics: Oversee fleet operations, driver scheduling, and route efficiency.
- People Management:Lead, motivate, and manage a team of blue-collar staff. Foster a positive work culture and maintain effective communication.
- Industrial Relations: Maintain sound employee relations in a largely non-unionised environment.
- Business Development Support: Collaborate with the Business Development team to identify new growth opportunities and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Reporting & Budgeting: Manage budgets, control costs, and provide regular operational and financial reports to senior management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience in plant or operations management, preferably in manufacturing or recycling.
- Strong track record in production planning, health & safety compliance, and staff management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work in challenging environments and travel to informal areas when required.
- Sound knowledge of OHS Act and ability to act as the designated 16.2.
- Proficiency in MS Office and production management software.
