Plant Maintenance Technician

About the position

Our client is looking for a Plant Maintenance Technician to join their company

Minimum Required Qualification

• Trade Test certificate: Millwright
• At least 18 months Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering qualification or PLC; SCADA &
  Batch Management Software’s certification training program
• SAP-EAM and Project Management training certificates
• 5 years’ experience as a Millwright/Technician maintenance or project environment (preferably in the
  manufacturing Chemical Industry

Preferred Qualification

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering
• Wireman’s license
• Experience using SAP-EAM (advantageous)
• Projects Environment experience (advantageous

Required Skills and Competencies

• Computer literacy with working knowledge on Microsoft packages and SAP is essential
• Good verbal communication skills and basic report writing skills are essential
• Strong organizational skills and efficient time management skills are essential
• A sense of urgency (does things quickly and methodically), self-driven and resilient, work with
  minimal supervision and exercise independent judgement
• In-depth knowledge instrumentation and able to do calibrations and verifications
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance
• Ability to interpret PLC software and fault find in PLC software
• Ability to interpret SCADA and Batch Management software and use as a fault-finding tool
• Ability to diagnose, determine cause and effect, and repair equipment malfunctions
• An analytical approach to problem solving and ability to pay high attention to details as well as handle
  complexity (multiple challenges simultaneously)
• Shows an open attitude towards change and willing to adapt to changing priorities, process
  conditions and circumstances
• Ability to read and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals and
  specifications
