The Role: Personal Lines Underwriter
As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for processing and managing policies while building and maintaining strong client relationships. This role requires accurate administration, sound product knowledge, and proactive client engagement to ensure retention of business and facilitate new opportunities. You will also play a key role in supporting compliance, service delivery, and the overall business mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and grow client relationships to ensure retention and service excellence
• Receive, process, and finalise instructions from clients, brokers, and stakeholders
• Underwrite new and existing business quotes and process amendments, renewals, and cancellations
• Manage unmet premiums and mitigate cancellations by engaging with clients proactively
• Ensure accuracy of documentation, correspondence, and record-keeping
• Adhere to all internal and external guidelines, mandates, and SLAs
• Compile and generate reports for management as required
• Interpret and apply technical short-term insurance information to decision-making
• Stay informed on competitor and insurer products to recommend improvements

About You

• Minimum 3 years experience in underwriting within short-term insurance
• Strong knowledge of insurance products, classes, and industry regulations
• FAIS compliant with relevant qualifications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven sales and client service abilities
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong administration and organisational skills
• Analytical mindset with sound decision-making ability
• Proactive, professional, and committed to ongoing self-development
