The Role: People Partner
This role bridges the gap between business objectives and employee needs by partnering with managers across key operational divisions. It supports all core People functions industrial relations, recruitment, HR administration, performance, and compliance ensuring strategic and hands-on HR delivery that aligns with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Minimum 3-5 years HR generalist experience in a fast-paced environment
- Advise and guide on disciplinary action, investigations, and performance issues
- Draft charges, issue disciplinary notices, chair hearings, and manage terminations
- Represent the company at CCMA (Con/Arb) and ensure fair outcomes
- Ensure accurate documentation and updates on HRIS (leave, contracts, IODs, etc.)
- Oversee recruitment processes, from requisitions to onboarding and SETA assessments
- Facilitate training aligned to schedules and divisional needs; track training impact
- Partner with line managers on KPIs, reviews, coaching, and performance support
- Analyse trends and advise on HR solutions to improve morale, retention, and planning
- Interpret labour laws and HR policies; guide managers on restructures and compliance
About You
- 3-5 years' HR generalist or People Partner experience, ideally in FMCG or retail
- Solid understanding of South African labour law and disciplinary processes
- Confident chairing hearings and representing at the CCMA
- Strong admin and systems skills (HRIS, payroll inputs, reporting)
- Excellent interpersonal skillsable to build trust and advise line managers
- Proactive, solutions-focused, and capable of managing a high-volume, field-based workforce
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Experience with SETA processes and training facilitation is advantageous
