About the position
Our client is looking for a Payroll / Wage Clerk to join their team. The ideal candidate should have experience in payroll processing and maintaining accurate payroll records.
Responsibilities include:
Payroll processing and administration of all weekly, permanent and casual staff
Maintaining proper control during payroll processing of weekly wages and ensuring accurate record keeping for audit purposes
- Downloading hours from clocking system and ensuring that all errors are rectified
- Ensuring that all staff are paid correctly and on time
- Adhering to all MEIBC statutory regulations i.e., shift allowances, loaders allowances, driver allowances, acting allowances and overtime rates ensuring that employees are paid fairly
- Conducting regular audits on employees' files, ensuring that all statutory information is filed
- Ensuring same day turnaround on all standard payroll queries, resolving any queries satisfactorily and to finality
- Confirming that all shifts have been set up correctly, on the time and attendance system
- Ensuring accurate set up and systems maintenance of Sage VIP system
- Managing all assets (e.g., clock machines and biometric face recognition equipment)
- Timeously completing all onboarding and termination administration
- Ensuring that all timesheets are emailed (on time) to the relevant managers to check absenteeism and missing information
- Responsible for processing all leave in Sage VIP
- Disseminating all wage summary, overtime, sick and leave reports
- Implement and maintain monthly and weekly analysis reporting
