About the position

An FMCG manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to oversee payroll administration and time-and-attendance processes, ensuring accurate and timely payroll, reliable employee records, and compliance with applicable legislation and company procedures

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise weekly payroll processing and verify timesheets, leave, overtime, appointments, transfers and terminations
• Check payroll calculations, deductions, benefits and supporting documentation for accuracy
• Investigate and resolve payroll, wages and leave queries and discrepancies
• Oversee biometric clocking, shift patterns, attendance records and authorised overtime
• Prepare weekly and monthly payroll, wage, overtime, attendance, leave and headcount reports
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure confidentiality
• Support payroll reconciliations, audits and compliance with labour and statutory requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
• At least 3 years' payroll administration experience; supervisory experience is an advantage
• Experience with payroll software; Accsys experience would be beneficial

Knowledge and Skills:

• Sound knowledge of payroll processes, BCEA requirements and statutory deductions such as PAYE, UIF and SDL
• Strong numerical, Excel, data-entry and reporting skills with excellent attention to detail
• Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality and work effectively with employees, supervisors and management
