About the position
A well established organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to take ownership of a high volume payroll function processing in excess of 3000 monthly salaries.
This role requires a technically strong payroll professional with deep knowledge of payroll legislation, tax compliance and system configuration. The successful candidate will act as the subject matter expert and escalation point while driving process improvements and ensuring full statutory compliance across a large payroll base.
Requirements:
- Relevant payroll or finance qualification
- 6 to 8 years payroll experience
- Proven experience managing large scale payrolls of 3000 plus employees
- 4 to 6 years experience on VIP Payroll Premier
- Experience with BIM and ESS
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and remuneration policies
- Sound payroll accounting knowledge
- Experience with expatriate salary build ups
- Strong customer service orientation
- Intermediate to strong computer literacy
The Role:
- Full end to end payroll processing for over 3000 employees monthly
- Verification and validation of payroll calculations
- Reconciliation of PAYE, SDL and UIF including monthly and bi annual submissions
- Resolution of SARS and tax related queries
- Processing and verification of third party payments
- Payroll reporting including budgets, payroll reports and leave provisions
- Payroll reconciliations and journal submissions
- Audit support and statutory compliance
- Maintain and configure payroll system settings and assist with testing
- Identify and implement payroll process improvements
- Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships
