Payroll Administrator
Location: Germiston, Gauteng
Salary: R25,000 CTC per month
Role Summary
Our client, a leader in the commercial engineering sector, is seeking a meticulous and professional Payroll Administrator to join their Germiston-based team. This role requires an individual who can take full ownership of the payroll cycle while providing high-level administrative support to the HR department. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a deep understanding of South African statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Full Function Payroll

  • End-to-End Processing: Manage the complete weekly and monthly payroll cycle for all staff.
  • Data Integrity: Capture and verify new engagements, terminations, leave, overtime, and varied deductions.
  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure all submissions (PAYE, UIF, SDL) are accurate and on time.
  • SARS Submissions: Expert handling of EMP201 and EMP501 submissions via eFiling.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll reports against General Ledger accounts to ensure zero variance.
  • Reporting: Generate payslips and detailed payroll reports for management review.

Human Resources Administration

  • Employee Lifecycle: Facilitate seamless onboarding/offboarding and draft all employment contracts.
  • Recruitment Support: Manage job postings, CV screening, and interview scheduling.
  • Compliance: Ensure all HR activities align with the BCEA, LRA, and internal company policies.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Matric (Grade 12) is essential. A tertiary qualification in Payroll, HR, or Finance is highly advantageous.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of solid experience in a Full Function Payroll role.
  • Software: PaySpace experience is a significant advantage. Proficiency in MS Excel and SARS eFiling is required.
  • Legislation: Strong working knowledge of South African labour laws and statutory requirements.
