About the position
Take on the challenge of handling the payroll and HR admin in a growing, values-driven technical environment! Is this you? You're a detail-oriented professional who thrives on accuracy and structure. You take pride in delivering payroll on time, ensuring all records are up to date, and supporting your team with clear communication and reliability. You're proactive, discreet, and solutions-focused - always ready to improve processes while maintaining high ethical standards. What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) You'll be running the full payroll function for a permanent staff complement of 150 and 20 wages using Payspace - from loading new starters to finalising monthly pay runs, handling deductions, statutory submissions and issuing payslips. You'll coordinate closely with finance to prepare payment schedules, reconcile payroll, and submit reports. You'll also handle HR admin including maintaining personnel files, managing leave, capturing performance reviews and preparing contracts and UIF documents. You'll work on Ecotime and handle the administration for time and attendance. Your role will include absenteeism reporting and performance tracking, giving you the chance to influence and support operational effectiveness across the business. Where you'll be doing it Our client is a well-established company known for its significant contribution to the electrical industry. They have a reputation for delivering excellent service across a wide range of electrical contracting and project management services. With a focus on quality, safety, and innovation, this company fosters a collaborative and performance-driven culture. You will be office based, in Epping, Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm. What you'll need You'll have a Matric Certificate and at least five years of payroll experience along with some HR admin experience. Your solid understanding of payroll best practices, BCEA, the Labour Relations Act and the Main Bargaining Council Agreement (NBCEI) for the Electrical Industry will be essential. You'll bring a strong sense of responsibility and confidentiality along with a collaborative approach and commitment to high standards. Your integrity, loyalty and ability to engage with people at all levels will make you a valued member of the team. We are ideally looking for someone with Payspace experience but will look at other payroll packages and some time and attendance program experience as they're utilising Ecotime. What you'll get Besides a basic salary along with a contribution to retirement annuity (after probation) and optional medical insurance, you'll have the possibility of earning a performance bonus.
