You're a natural leader with strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset. You've got a knack for managing people and processes, and you thrive in a hands-on environment. You're passionate about the marine sector or eager to dive in, and you're not afraid to get stuck in, whether it's guiding a team, engaging with clients, or jumping in on operations. You're enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and always ready to support your team and ensure things run smoothly.
You'll lead and supervise a small team at the spares counter department, ensuring seamless over-the-counter service, smooth administration, and efficient parts operations. You'll manage stock levels, handle supplier and customer logistics, oversee local and international procurement, and maintain key documentation like customs worksheets. Your role is critical to growing the spares department through strong interdepartmental collaboration, excellent client support, and active participation in marine shows and exhibitions. Expect variety, ownership, and a chance to make a real impact in a thriving, niche industry.
You'll be part of a reputable and growing marine engineering company based in Cape Town. You'll bring at least 5 years of sales experience in the marine or related sectors, plus a background in supervision or team management. You'll need sound knowledge of engines and engine parts, strong admin skills, and confidence using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook (Pastel is a bonus). Matric is required, and a driver's licence is preferred. Above all, you must be a proactive team player with a willingness to learn and lead.
