About the position
Hire Resolve is currently seeking a dedicated Para-Planner on behalf of our client, a major key player in the Wealth Management sector, known for delivering tailored financial solutions to a diverse client base. This exciting permanent opportunity is based in either Pretoria or Bellville, offering the ideal environment for a skilled professional looking to grow within a reputable and forward-thinking organization.
Technical Duties
- Consolidate and summarize client policies and investments
- Create financial projections
- Assess and highlight tax implications
- Prepare cash flows to ensure income sustainability
- Identify appropriate investment vehicles and structures
- Determine capital and income needs in scenarios such as death, disability, severe illness, or retirement
- Identify capital/income shortfalls
- Analyze and compare local and offshore unit trust funds (CIS)
- Provide supporting data including performance graphs, asset allocation, risk/return scatterplots, and correlation tables
Stakeholder Engagement- Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., Wealth Planners, Financial Advisors) and external partners (e.g., brokers, investment consultants from life and asset management companies)
Administrative and Analytical Support- Provide investment advice and highlight tax implications for Wealth Planners
- Draft detailed reports including cash flow analyses, asset allocations, and annexures as instructed
- Support Wealth Planners post-report presentation if needed
- Conduct research on portfolios and product performance
- Recommend suitable investment products and structures
- Stay informed on relevant legislation and evolving investment solutions
- Prepare adhoc risk cover reports when requested
- Perform in-depth investment analysis (e.g., unit trusts, shares)
Process Management- Ensure a lead time of three business days for preparation of investment reports and proposals for Financial Advisors
Requirements- A relevant financial qualification (e.g., BCom in Finance, Accounting, or Investment Management)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning (CFP) is beneficial
- Minimum of 2 years in the Financial Services industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (advanced level)
- Ability to build financial models in Excel
- Familiarity with financial tools: Morningstar, Moneymate, Spotlight Investor, Futuresight, etc.
- Excellent report writing and written communication skills
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English (both written and spoken)
