Remote Cold Calling Sales Agent (South Africa - UK Retail & Hospitality Market)

Role: Cold Calling Sales Agent - Card Payment Solutions
Location: Work from home (South Africa)
Target Market: UK SMEs in Retail (shops, convenience stores, boutiques) and Hospitality (cafés, pubs, takeaways, restaurants)
Hours: UK business hours (Monday-Friday)
Type: Full-time - Base + Commission
Reports To: UK Sales Manager / Head of Acquiring Sales

About the Role

We're hiring driven and confident South African sales professionals to join our remote outbound sales team, selling UK in-store card payment solutions to small and medium-sized businesses in retail and hospitality.

As a Cold Calling Sales Agent, you'll manage the entire sales process - from the first cold call through to closing the deal. You'll speak directly with business owners, uncover pain points with their existing payment providers, and show them how they can save money and receive their funds faster through a modern, transparent payment solution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make high-volume outbound B2B calls to UK retail and hospitality businesses.
  • Engage and qualify business owners and decision-makers confidently.
  • Identify key pain points, such as high processing fees, hidden charges, poor customer support, or delayed payouts.
  • Present and sell PayHounds' payment solutions clearly and persuasively, highlighting savings and service benefits.
  • Handle objections professionally and close deals directly over the phone.
  • Submit merchant applications accurately and ensure smooth onboarding.
  • Achieve and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
  • Keep CRM systems updated with all call notes, activity, and progress.
  • Maintain full compliance with UK financial conduct and data protection standards (training provided).

To perform effectively, you must have:

  • A quiet, distraction-free workspace suitable for professional outbound calling.

Skills & Attributes Needed

  • Proven cold-calling and closing experience (B2B preferred).
  • Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills.
  • Confident, persuasive, and able to build rapport quickly.
  • Fluent, clear English with a neutral or UK-friendly accent.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and resilient under pressure.
  • Competitive and goal-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems, dialers, and digital tools.
  • Basic numeracy skills to explain pricing, rates, and savings.
