About the position
Our client, a leading Manufacturing company, based in Durban, is looking to fill the position of Outbound Operations Supervisor.
Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing outbound operations, ensuring timely dispatch of goods, and managing a team to achieve operational excellence. The role will be based at the Durban operation but will require extensive travel to other operations situated in KwaZulu Natal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate outbound logistics activities to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensure the timely and accurate dispatch of goods to customers while minimizing delays and errors.
- Monitor warehouse and dispatch staff to maintain productivity and compliance with company policies.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and operational regulations to prevent disruptions.
- Oversee inventory accuracy and ensure proper documentation for all outbound shipments.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including procurement, warehousing, and customer service, to optimize supply chain processes.
- Identify inefficiencies in outbound operations and implement process improvements to enhance performance.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance to foster a high-performing team.
- Address and resolve any logistical challenges, delays, or errors in the outbound process.
- Generate reports and provide data-driven insights for management to improve logistics strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Relevant diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 3+ years proven experience in a supervisory role within logistics or dispatch operations.
- Strong SAP experience
