About the position
Employment Type: Fixed-Term Contract – 6 Months
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:00–15:00
Basic Salary: R6,000 per month
Travel Allowance: R500 per month
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Outbound Logistics Operator to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and preparing raw materials for production, as well as assisting with the loading and offloading of trucks and the movement of materials within the facility.
The role would suit someone who is safety-conscious, organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced production and logistics environment.
- Operate forklifts and other lifting and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Receive, move and prepare raw materials for production planning.
- Load and offload trucks.
- Identify and distinguish between allergen and non-allergen products.
- Segregate and prepare reprocessable stock for production planning.
- Maintain a clean, sanitised and organised work area.
- Follow food safety, hygiene and allergen management requirements.
- Identify and immediately report any food safety risks or concerns to the relevant manager.
- Follow all Health and Safety procedures and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow company policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Assist colleagues and other departments when required.
- Support environmental and sustainability initiatives within the workplace.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as instructed by management.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- At least 2 years' relevant work experience.
- Training or experience in operating lifting equipment / forklifts.
- Knowledge of food safety and allergen management principles will be advantageous.
- Good English communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office will be advantageous.
- Ability to work safely and accurately in a production or logistics environment.
