About the position
Our client, a leading Chemical Manufacturing company based in Durban, is looking to fill the position of Outbound Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
Maximise efficiency of Stock operations:
- Allocate available stock against orders and completion of delivery notes.
- Vet and transfer stock from production to sales warehouse (consignment warehouses).
- Verify orders against available pack sizes before requesting for fresh stock manufacture.
- Prepare picking lists for stores to assemble the order.
- Ensure back orders are minimized.
- Manage outbound stock levels in conjunction with purchasing and sales.
- Monitor stock levels ensuring FIFO is practiced, expiry dates are monitored, ensure timeous movement of stock to reduce losses, compile list of slow-moving stock.
- Conduct checks to ensure that stock meets export requirements, expiry date, labelling, drum condition, manages the physical loading of the container.
- Supervise the loading of trucks and containers for export, ensuring that they are loaded correctly.
- Supervise the forklift truck drivers on the loading of break bulk and loading of export containers.
- Complete the VGM, container inspection check list and, IMO dangerous goods declaration.
- Complete the shipping of dispatched product/s on the ERP system, providing dispatch documents, and signing of hazardous declaration.
- Compile stock related reports.
- Compile the load plan for outbound deliveries
Environmental Health and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all OHS regulations.
- Working knowledge of process safety management.
- Implement and maintain LSS.
Qualifications / Experience / Competencies:
- Matric / Grade 12 (with English and Mathematics)
- Recognised national qualification in logistics control and management
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in logistics
