About the position

Purpose of the Job:
Mogale Solution Providers (MSP), a global management consulting firm based in Randburg, seeks to appoint a highly experienced expert to provide Organisational Development (OD) consulting and strategic advisory services in alignment with MSP's mission to deliver impactful public sector transformation. This role entails leading OD interventions across diverse client projects, with a focus on operating model formulation, organisational architecture implementation, business process improvement, and culture transformation. The OD Consultant will deliver practical, evidence-based solutions in organisational diagnostics, restructuring, change enablement, staff retention, and strategic workforce planning.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
1. Organisational Development & Diagnostics

  • Conduct comprehensive organisational diagnostics using surveys, interviews, focus groups, and quantitative assessments.
  • Design and implement culture and engagement surveys, analyse organisational health, and provide clear recommendations.
  • Lead resignation trend assessments, retention risk diagnostics, and employee experience insights.
  • Deliver actionable insights that inform operating model shifts, performance improvement, and OD interventions.

  • Operating Model Design & Organisational Architecture

  • Develop and implement fit-for-purpose operating models that align with organisational strategy, service delivery goals, and policy mandates.

  • Translate strategic objectives into practical and scalable organisational architectures including structures, functions, and capabilities.
  • Facilitate alignment between business models, processes, and structure to support efficient service delivery and responsiveness.
  • Support post-implementation stabilisation and performance monitoring following structural changes.

  • Organisational Structure Design, Job Evaluation & Grading

  • Lead the design of organisational structures including departments, roles, and reporting relationships.

  • Conduct job profiling, evaluation and grading using recognised methodologies (e.g., Paterson, Hay, Equate).
  • Ensure consistency and fairness in grading processes to support performance management and equitable remuneration.
  • Work with HR teams to embed evaluation outputs into workforce planning, succession, and recruitment frameworks.

  • Business Process Mapping & Optimisation

  • Map current (AS-IS) and future (TO-BE) business processes, identifying inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.

  • Facilitate process reengineering and design thinking workshops to enhance customer service, agility, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with teams to document standard operating procedures and define roles within processes.
  • Support integration of business processes with new technologies and digital transformation goals.

  • Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop change management strategies tailored to OD interventions, structural shifts, and process re-engineering.

  • Conduct change impact assessments, readiness diagnostics, and risk mitigation planning.
  • Design and roll out change management toolkits, training materials, and stakeholder communication plans.
  • Lead change capability building, equipping leaders and line managers with tools to manage transitions effectively.
  • Monitor post-change adoption, address resistance points, and realign plans as needed to ensure lasting impact.

  • Culture, Values & Organisational Alignment

  • Design, implement, and analyse culture surveys and diagnoses to assess organisational climate and identify improvement areas.

  • Design and implement culture transformation initiatives to support new behaviours, leadership expectations, and employee engagement.
  • Facilitate alignment between organisational values, leadership behaviours, and workplace practices.
  • Deliver culture activation workshops, leadership sessions, and team interventions that promote collaboration, accountability, and performance.

  • Talent, Leadership Development & Retention

  • Collaborate with HR and management to build and implement succession plans for critical roles.

  • Support leadership development and coaching initiatives, aligned with strategic capabilities and future needs.
  • Analyse employee turnover trends, exit interview feedback, and pulse surveys to strengthen retention strategies.
  • Advise on reward, recognition, and development initiatives to drive retention and performance.

  • Project Management & Advisory Support

  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and resource tracking tools for OD and change initiatives.

  • Provide technical OD input in organisational reviews, strategy workshops, and structural reform projects.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and decision-support documents for leadership and governance forums.
  • Contribute to internal OD frameworks, toolkits, and knowledge sharing within MSP's team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in Industrial Psychology, Organisational Development, or Human Resource Management or related field
  • Master's Degree in MBA/MBL, in Industrial Psychology, Organisational Development, or Human Resource Management or related field will be an added advantage
  • Registration with HPCSA and/or IPM (compulsory)
  • 7+ years' experience as an OD Specialist, including:
    o Operating model development
    o Organisation structure design
    o Job evaluation and grading
    o Culture and change management
    o Business process improvement
  • Strong facilitation, diagnostic, and analytical skills
  • Proven experience developing and implementing OD tools and frameworks
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, survey tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey, CultureAmp), and process mapping tools
  • SARA Accreditation and Prosci Change Management Certification will be an added advantage
