Oracle PCMCS Consultant (Profitability and Cost Management Cloud Services) to be based in Johannesburg, Gauteng

You don’t need to be an Oracle expert to be considered for this role.
We are recruiting across Junior/Mid and Senior Consultant levels within the same Oracle Profitability and Cost Management role family. We’re looking for candidates across Junior/Mid and Senior levels, with relevant backgrounds in finance, costing, technology, data, software development, or business systems.
The role involves working with costing and allocation models, data, business requirements, system configuration, testing and implementation, while building further expertise within Oracle Profitability and Cost Management Cloud Services.
For Junior/Mid candidates, direct Oracle EPM or costing experience is not essential where strong technical aptitude, analytical ability, confidence working with data, and learning agility are demonstrated. Experience with costing, financial modelling or other EPM/costing platforms such as Anaplan, Magic Orange, OneStream or similar can also provide a strong foundation.
For Senior candidates, practical Oracle EPM (cloud or on-premise) experience is required. Direct PCM, PCMCS, EPCM or HPCM experience is highly advantageous but not essential. Senior candidates should demonstrate the technical depth, independence, problem-solving ability, and ownership expected at this level, together with the ability to understand and apply costing and allocation concepts.

THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE ARE:
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
- Relevant professional experience in finance, technology, data, software development, business systems, or a related environment. This can be gained from a background in Accounting, Management/Cost Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Informatics, Computer Science, Software Development, or similar disciplines.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to work confidently with structured data.
- Costing & Financial Modelling – Junior/Mid candidates may be considered without direct experience where they demonstrate the ability to learn and apply these concepts. Senior candidates should have practical exposure to costing, allocation principles and financial modelling.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical and functional documentation.
Highly Advantageous:
- Exposure to the banking or financial services industry.
- Experience with Oracle PCM/PCMCS, other Oracle EPM tools, or similar EPM/costing platforms such as Anaplan, Magic Orange, OneStream.
- Experience using SQL.
- Experience working in hybrid, client-facing environments.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
Oracle PCM / EPM Solution Development
- Develop and enhance Oracle PCM / EPM solutions and allocation logic.
- Translate costing and business requirements into solution build and testing.
- Assist with or take ownership of solution configuration and implementation.
- Apply cost-allocation and financial-modelling principles.
- Ensure solution changes align with agreed business requirements and allocation rules.
Data Analysis, Validation & Troubleshooting
- Analyse source data, calculations and model outputs.
- Perform model validation and testing.
- Investigate discrepancies and identify underlying causes.
- Troubleshoot data, configuration, model, and logic-related issues.
- Use SQL and Excel to support analysis and investigation.
- Validate that outputs are accurate and fit for use.
Requirements & Functional Translation
- Understand costing and business requirements.
- Clarify requirements, assumptions, and expected outputs.
- Translate requirements into appropriate solution build and testing activities.
- Identify incomplete or conflicting information.
- Escalate complex or higher-risk design matters appropriately.
Project Implementation & Delivery
- Contribute to new Oracle Cloud implementations.
- Work towards agreed project plans and delivery requirements.
- Manage assigned development, enhancement, testing, and implementation activities.
- Respond appropriately when priorities or customer requirements change.
- Maintain quality and follow-through across assigned work.
Client Communication & User Enablement
- Work with project teams and business users at the appropriate level of seniority.
- Explain technical or functional information clearly.
- Simplify complex problems for business users.
- Present implemented solutions where required.
- Train users on the solution.
- Provide implementation hypercare.
Ongoing business-user support following implementation sits with the Managed Services team rather than the project consulting team.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
- Produce clear technical and functional documentation.
- Document solution logic, changes, testing, and implementation activities.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, changes, and testing.
- Participate in knowledge-transfer activities.
- Ensure work can be understood and supported by others.
Learning & Capability Development
- Build Oracle EPM / PCM capability through practical application.
- Learn from senior consultants, feedback, and mentorship.
- Use available on-demand learning resources appropriately.
- Develop increasing independence and consulting capability over time.
