Operations Supervisor

About the position

Our client based in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, is seeking a Operations Supervisor to join their team.

• Business Unit/Division Management
• Manage the performance of the Business unit / division 
• Communicate and manage performance requirements 
• Monitor progress and provide sufficient feedback to staff 
• Provide support to the department where required 
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation
• Ensure the department complies with all relevant legislation
• Manage Risks 
• Proactively identify possible risks and ensure timely action to mitigate or reduce said risks

Financial Management:

• Ensure controls are in place
• Ensure compliance to systems, processes and controls. 

Customer Services / Relationship Management:

• Establish and manage relationships with key stakeholder’s
• Maintain relevant key stakeholder relationships 
• Actively collaborate to make all stakeholders ambassadors of the company
• Attend / address required forums / events 
• Manage client services 
• Handle escalated problems, enquiries and needs in a timely fashion
• Ensure and manage quality of delivered products and services 
• Maintain excellent client services 
• Ensure competitive products and services 
• Ensure the retention and expansion of market share
• Establish partnerships with preferred producers, suppliers and buyers

Excellent Service Delivery:

• Deliver client services 
• Handle client enquiries and provide timely feedback for possible solutions
• Maintain a client-centred approach.
• Maintain an excellent work quality.

Qualifications and Experiences:

• Matric, 
• National Certificate/ Diploma/ Advanced Certificate / Nated 4- 6
• Basic Accounting Diploma 
• International Trade and Transport Diploma 
• Similar position - > 6 years
• Shipping and maritime industry - > 6 years
• Proven experience within the clearing and forwarding industry
• Sense of Self-efficiency
• Interpersonal sensitivity
• Excellent people skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication Skills
• Ability to build high performance teams
• Ethical business acumen
