Operations Manager

About the position

A well-established OEM / engineering company in the East Rand is seeking an Operations Manager to join their growing aftermarket and service division.
Minimum Requirements

• South African citizen
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing technical service personnel
• Experience within OEM, engineering, manufacturing, mining services or aftermarket service environments
• Strong people management and leadership ability
• Experience managing technicians, field service teams or workshop/service operations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and hands-on operational environment
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver’s licence

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage and support a team of 14 Customer Support Technicians across Africa
• Drive technician performance, development and team motivation
• Ensure high levels of customer service and operational efficiency
• Assist technicians with operational and site-related challenges
• Coordinate service schedules, technician allocation and operational requirements
• Monitor technician productivity, turnover generation and service delivery
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards and service procedures
• Liaise closely with service, operations and sales teams
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the service division
• Assist in growing the service department as a business unit
• Support training, mentoring and career development of technical staff
