Operations Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee daily operations, including planning, scheduling, routing, and general fleet management.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure that targets are met.
  • Manage and mentor a team of drivers, fleet controllers, and support staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery, including the use of subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and suppliers to enhance service quality.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Grade 12
  • A formal qualification in Business Management, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field will be an advantage.
  • Proven experience in transport operations management, preferably in the abnormal transport industry.
  • Energetic, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge of cross-border abnormal transport operations.
  • Experience in abnormal load permits and load configuration will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of logistics software and tracking systems is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Available after hours and over weekends to resolve any operational issues that may arise.
