Operations Manager - Road Freight Location: Durban Availability: Immediate Salary: Highly Negotiable (Based on Experience) A well-established road freight company, with over 20 years of industry experience, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to lead our dynamic team in Durban. This is a critical role requiring a strategic and hands-on leader to ensure the efficient and effective management of our road freight operations. Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of road freight operations, including planning, scheduling, dispatch, and delivery. Requirements: Proven experience as an Operations Manager in the road freight industry.
Manage and optimize fleet utilization and driver performance.
Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and safety standards.
Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
Manage and maintain relationships with clients and vendors.
Resolve operational issues and address customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations staff.
Manage and coordinate all warehouse and distribution activities.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of operational data.
Manage budgets and control operational expenses.
Implement and improve operational processes and procedures.
Strong understanding of road freight operations, logistics, and transportation management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
