About the position
Gordian is seeking an experienced Operations Manager who will handle a wide range of duties pertaining to the day-to-day functions (HR and Finance) of two business units consisting of Engineering Consultants and Software Developers. You will recruit and lead the teams and ensure that both business units are performing to their quality standards and make sure that everyone is happy and energized.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Manage day-to-day operations and drive overall opportunities for improvement or revision of the infrastructure.
- Manage the consultancy- and technical department, monitoring their performance, and providing constructive feedback for improvement.
- Linking the Technical Lead, who oversees the Development team from a technical perspective, with operations.
- Establishes and maintains credible, professional relationships with clients, internal business lines and external vendors.
- Communicate customer issues with the teams and devise ways of improving the overall customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.
- Plays a significant role in long-term project planning, project status reporting and implementing change control processes.
- Perform quality controls to ensure wealthy project profitability deliverables
- Execute monthly invoice planning and billing to clients according to project agreements.
- Collaborates with back-office team members to ensure seamless business execution, reinforce positive morale, and uphold company values.
- Works closely with the management team to ensure all operational, administrative, finance, HR and compliance functions with the organization are being properly executed in accordance with best practices.
- Need for flexibility and adaptability in terms of roles and responsibilities due to the nature of the operations
Inherent requirements of the role:
- Bachelor's Degree in business management or related
- Financial background and/or Engineering background would be advantageous
- Consulting experience would be advantageous
- At least 5 years of experience in management and operations
- Understanding of business financial management and budgeting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Project management
- Affinity of IT and/or software development is a plus
- Affinity with internal relations and driving performance appraisals
- Structured and analytical
- Relationship Builder
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Good decision-making skills and response to high-pressure situations
- Excellent organizing skills to coordinate project activities
