About the position
An international hydraulic engineering company requires the above to play a key leadership role in strengthening the company’s operational performance by implementing and driving operational systems and process improvements, ensuring sustainable operational excellence.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A diploma or Degree in Operations Management or Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field will be advantageous.
- Previous experience working as an Operations Manager within the industrial, engineering, manufacturing, or technical distribution environments is essential for the role.
- Demonstrated experience implementing operational systems and process improvements, overseeing inventory, supply chain management and operational management systems, as well as leading operational teams and driving operational improvements, translating strategy into operational execution.
- The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Director to rapidly strengthen operational structures and ensure that the business operates with efficiency, accountability, and discipline and must be comfortable operating in an environment that requires decisive action, urgency, and the ability to implement practical solutions quickly.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Strengthening the company’s operational performance by implementing and driving operational systems and process improvements, ensuring sustainable operational excellence.
- Developing and implementing systems to ensure sustainable operational excellence as well as leading by example, establishing a culture of professionalism, accountability, urgency, and operational discipline throughout the organisation.
- Taking ownership of the company’s day-to-day operational performance, leading operational teams including stores, service, and administrative functions.
- Ensuring operational activities supporting the company’s growth and customer commitments.
- Designing, implementing, and refining operational systems that support efficient business operations as well as developing and implementing procedures where systems are currently ineffective or non-existent.
- Introducing structured operational processes to improve workflow, accountability, and visibility and implementing practical systems where improvements are required, while building sustainable long-term processes.
- Strengthening inventory control and stock management processes as well as implementing robust stock control systems to improve accuracy and accountability as well as working closely with purchasing and suppliers to ensure the timely availability of critical products. Overseeing the service activities, including repairs, installations, and breakdown support, working closely with technical and sales teams to ensure rapid response to customer requirements.
