About the position
Introduction
Support the logistics division to analyse, develop and implement improved logistics strategies in line with the Famous Brands' objectives and to ensure optimization of logistics operations. To Project Manage key national initiatives in the Famous Brands Logistics Division. Transform Distribution Centre operational performance through a strong analytical approach and people leadership
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Group Executive: Supply Chain and the Managing Executive: Logistics to analyse, develop and implement key logistics strategies.
- Project Manage and implement national Logistics initiatives in line with the Famous Brands' logistics strategies.
- Conduct deep analysis and develop insights and solutions that step-change the business performance.
- Able to develop a high performing, motivated, disciplined and positive team aligned to the company core values.
- Organising and controlling the operational resources to ensure maximum efficiency of the Distribution Centres through effective management of people, assets, costs and productivity
- Maintain all legal, health and safety and Company policy requirements are strictly adhered to.
- Ensure all employees have the equipment, training and tools to carry out their duties effectively.
- To ensure that all operational standards and procedures within the depot are carried out effectively in line with company operating procedures
- Develop and implement plans to deliver all elements of the company objectives
- To drive effective service delivery across both internal and external customers
- Management and coordination of integrated operations across multiple logistics functions servicing internal and external customers
- Development and execution of Logistics Business Plan in line with Group imperatives
- Responsible for Financial and Legal governance
- Manage financial performance
- Drive profitability
- Ensure corporate governance is adhered to
- Oversee:
- Inventory Management
- Logistics Operations (Retail, Primary, Secondary and Exports)
- Health and Safety and overall Risk mitigation
- Drive Customer Service through tailored service offering
- Drive productivity and performance across the warehouse and distribution chain
- Manage strategic projects
- Management of Human Capital and execute the People Plan
- Skill development
- Industrial Relations
- Staff wellness
- Transformation
- Management of 3 rd Party Contractors and Service Providers
- Work closely with the relevant business partners within the support functions to implement and drive policies, procedures and business initiatives
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Relevant tertiary qualification (B. Com or Diploma)
- Preferably 5 - 10 years experience in an FMCG Distribution environment
