Operations Manager
Location: Ballito
Reports to: Managing Director / General Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
1. Role Purpose
The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate logistics, support sales activities, and champion customer engagement to ensure seamless end-to-end service delivery. This individual will play a key role in strengthening client relationships, improving internal processes, and identifying upsell opportunities. With strong organisational capability and a growth mindset, the successful candidate will be groomed to progress into a General Manager role over time.
2. Key Responsibilities
Operations & Logistics
Oversee daily operational activities to ensure smooth, efficient workflow.
Coordinate stock planning and facilitate the accurate loading of trucks for dispatch.
Monitor delivery schedules and ensure on-time execution.
Liaise with warehouse, drivers, and internal teams to resolve operational queries.
Manage and maintain operational processes, SOPs, and efficiency improvements.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and standards.
Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
Build strong, trusted relationships with new and existing customers.
Conduct post-delivery follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve concerns.
Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding orders, queries, and delivery timelines.
Act as the key point of contact for customer escalations.
Sales Support & Upselling
Identify opportunities to upsell additional products or services during customer interactions.
Support the external sales team by managing smaller accounts and nurturing repeat business.
Prepare quotes, assist with pricing discussions, and update sales information when needed.
Track and follow up on outstanding quotes, orders, and leads.
Administration & Systems
Work onPastel Partnerto process orders, update stock movements, and ensure accurate invoicing.
Maintain all operational and customer records in line with internal processes.
Generate operational and sales-related reports as required.
People & Leadership (Growth Pathway)
Support cross-functional coordination between operations, sales, warehouse, and management.
Demonstrate leadership capability with a view to stepping into a General Manager role.
Contribute to building a positive, productive team culture.
3. Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Matric (Grade 12) essential.
A relevant diploma or degree (Operations, Logistics, Business Management, Sales, or similar)advantageous.
Experience
3–5 years’ experience in an operations, logistics, or sales support role.
Experience dealing directly with customers and handling after-sales follow-up.
Exposure to coordinating deliveries/dispatch or working in a product-based environment.
Experience working onPastel Partneris strongly preferred.
Previous experience upselling or identifying additional client needs is an advantage.
Other Requirements
Valid Driver’s Licence – Essential
Own reliable transport advantageous
