About the position
The Operational Head Kenya will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the recruitment team in Kenya, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and alignment with strategic business objectives. This role requires an experienced recruitment industry leader who has previously run a recruitment business and possesses extensive networks across both private and public sectors. The ideal candidate must bring global recruitment industry knowledge, proven client acquisition capabilities, and the ability to leverage existing relationships to drive business growth for DANANDA TALENT.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment operations, ensuring timely and quality delivery of services.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize workflow, efficiency, and candidate-client satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Monitor and improve recruitment cycle times and fulfillment rates
Financial & Business Performance
- Manage budgets, control costs, and drive revenue growth.
- Develop and track key financial metrics, including gross margin, operating profit, and cost per hire.
- Identify new business opportunities to expand revenue streams and improve profitability.
- Optimize operational expenses while maintaining high-quality service delivery
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop recruitment consultants, account managers, and operational staff.
- Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear goals and expectations.
- Implement training programs to enhance team capabilities and productivity.
- Encourage collaboration and innovation to improve recruitment strategies.
Client & Candidate Experience
- Leverage existing networks in private and public sectors to secure new clients for DANANDA TALENT.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key decision-makers across industries.
- Ensure superior client relationship management and high levels of client satisfaction.
- Monitor and improve Net Promoter Score (NPS) for clients and candidates.
- Implement strategies to enhance candidate sourcing, engagement, and retention.
- Address client concerns and provide strategic workforce solutions.
Technology & Process Optimization
- Oversee the implementation of recruitment technology, CRM, and ATS systems.
- Leverage data analytics to track and improve recruitment outcomes.
- Apply global recruitment best practices and industry knowledge to streamline operations.
- Streamline processes to improve recruiter efficiency and time-to-fill.
- Stay updated on market trends and implement best practices in recruitment.
Business Growth & Market Expansion
- Utilize established networks to drive immediate business development and client acquisition.
- Secure new contracts with both private sector organizations and public sector entities.
- Develop strategies to expand market share and enter new industry verticals.
- Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders and industry networks.
- Ensure continuous improvement in service offerings and delivery models.
- Drive brand positioning and employer branding initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have previously run/managed a recruitment business with full P&L responsibility
- Must possess an extensive network of contacts in both private and public sectors
- Must have proven relationships with key decision-makers and procurement authorities
- Must demonstrate global knowledge and understanding of international recruitment industry trends
- Must have a track record of personally securing major clients and contracts
- Must be able to immediately activate network to generate business for DANANDA TALENT
Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, HR, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in recruitment, staffing, or related industries (increased from 8+)
- Proven track record in operational leadership and business management
- Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L management
- Demonstrable success in winning public sector tenders and contracts
- Established relationships with multinational corporations and government entities
- Proficiency in recruitment technology, CRM, and analytics
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong business development and sales capabilities
