About the position
DESCRIPTION/SYNOPSYS:
A large specialist manufacturing Company on Johannesburg's East Rand has a role available for an operational Accountant, in their production division. Reporting to the Finance Manager - the successful Accountant will assume responsibility for the full accounting function for their division.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BCom degree in Accounting
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles
- Exposure to manufacturing or transport clients during articles will be beneficial
- Must live close to the East Rand, or be willing to relocate
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The financial accountant's responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Processing of month end Journals/ Accruals to update TB for month end close off.
- Compiling for review and submitting VAT returns to head office and SARS.
- Preparing of Monthly reports for Management Reports.
- Liaison in budgeting process between finance and different departments
- Assisting with Budgets.
- Fixed assets
- Compile and present annual budgets
- Financial reporting
- Monthly management reports
- Budgets vs Actuals
- Product Costings
- Prepare production schedules
- Stock / inventory management
