About the position
A well-established manufacturing operation is looking for an Operations / Process Support Engineer to support the Site Manager with production systems, process improvement, operational troubleshooting and project implementation.
This role is suited to a hands-on candidate with strong operational, technical and analytical ability, who can work across production, maintenance, quality, engineering, contractors and management to improve efficiency, safety, throughput and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Site Manager with day-to-day operational oversight.
- Designing, developing and improving production systems and processes.
- Monitoring daily production targets, throughput and operational performance.
- Troubleshooting production, processing and equipment-related challenges.
- Supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions across operations.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, yield, safety and cost-effectiveness.
- Assisting with project delivery from concept through to implementation and commissioning.
- Working with internal departments to resolve operational issues.
- Managing vendors and contractors to ensure technical compliance, cost control and delivery timelines.
- Preparing reports, flow diagrams, cost estimates and operational feedback for management review.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an operational, production, process or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of operations, processing and production workflows.
- Experience with continuous improvement, troubleshooting and RCA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and operational issues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters clearly.
- Experience working with production, quality, maintenance, engineering teams, vendors or contractors.
- Exposure to food safety, quality systems or compliance would be advantageous.
