Onsetter at Assmang Mines

About the position

ASSMANG Pty Ltd requires the services of a Onsetter at their Black Rock Mine Operations situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

The closing date for applications will be Thursday, 14 April 2022.

MAIN TASK AND RESPONSIBILITY:

• Ensure safe transportation of people, material, ore, explosives and assist with shaft examination in the shaft.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certificate: Grade 12 (Required).
• Onsetter Ticket.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

• 3 Years experience as an Onsetter.
• Be able to Relieving as Banksman (Required).
• Be able to work Shifts (Required).

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Conduct the safe transportation of people, material, ore, explosives and assist with shaft examination in the shaft.
• Comply with safety, health and environmental standards.
• Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in work area.
• Comply with Quality standards and deliver in a manner that support and meet operational quality standards.
• Contribute to team performance.
• Participate in change initiatives and safety meetings.
• Comply with disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.
• Complete documentation accurately and in full.
• Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks.
• Participate in improvement initiatives.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:The candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.

Remuneration will be based on a competitive all inclusive flexible package.
