About the position
SA's global leader in on-line education, has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and suitably experienced Online English Tutor. This is a remote role for anyone in RSA.
This position is well-suited for young adults, university students, and both experienced and aspiring tutors who are based in South Africa, have a passion for working with children, and are seeking remote opportunities to supplement their income.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Guide students while delivering English lessons based on a well-developed curriculum and teaching methodology
- Engage and encourage students positively throughout the lesson
- Manage a classroom and provide feedback to students on their language proficiency
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- A degree or NQF 7 equivalent
- A 120-hour TEFL/TESOL certificate is required
- Great command of the English language (accent neutral)
- Computer literate and able to troubleshoot
- Comfortable using Zoom as a teaching platform
PC Specifications:
- Processor: Intel ® Core™ i5 [Email Address Removed] (4 CPUs) or greater
- Memory: 8GB RAM or greater
Backup Power:
- Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) with a battery life of up to 4-5 hours (or willing to purchase before commencing teaching). This is a non-negotiable requirement
- A separate mini power supply system to power your fiber router as an independent system
Internet Connection:
- A stable FIBRE internet connection - at a minimum of 25 mbps upload and download speeds
- PC is connected via a LAN cable and not via a Wi-Fi connection
PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT ACCEPT WIFI, 5G OR LTE CONNECTIONS
Other Technical Requirements:
- Noise-cancelling headsets
- HD web camera
- Back-up headset is highly recommended
- Tidy, well-lit, and quiet teaching environment
Points To Note:
- All lesson material is provided
- All students are kids
Available Shifts in South African Standard Time:
Location:
- Anywhere in South Africa as this is a home-based remote online teaching role
