About the position
Our client in the mining sector is seeking an experienced OEM Delivery Manager to support a large-scale mining and mineral processing project based in Richards Bay, The role focuses on ensuring that the EPC contractor fulfils its commitments related to overall project engineering and the delivery, installation, and commissioning of OEM equipment, including Dry Mining Units, Stackers, Cyclones, and similar mineral sands processing equipment.
The successful candidate will form part of the Owner's Engineering Team and work closely with the EPC contractor and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in integrating all disciplines and functions to deliver the engineering and OEM scope safely and competitively.
- Manage contractor performance in accordance with contract terms.
- Proactively identify and manage risks to safety, quality, and delivery.
- Act as the integrator between the EPC contractor and the Project Office in Richards Bay to ensure project priorities and objectives are met.
- Serve as the focal point for the Construction Function, providing assurance and implementing best practices.
- Work closely with the project's engineering team to ensure OEM equipment specifications and technical requirements are clearly communicated and understood by the EPC contractor.
- Maintain comprehensive records of contractor performance, equipment delivery schedules, installation progress, and commissioning reports.
- Lead readiness and self-verification activities to ensure predictability is delivered.
- Act as Safety Leader with the EPC contractor and OEM suppliers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of industry work experience.
- Background in Contractor Performance Management.
- Experience in multidisciplinary, cross-functional, and multi-cultural project delivery environments.
- Understanding of OEM equipment related to mineral sands processing and handling equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise between the owner's team and the EPC contractor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Self-starter, highly motivated, with substantial levels of initiative.
- Strong problem-solver with an outstanding bias for action and closure.
- Demonstrated safety and quality focus with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Fluent in English (Chinese is an asset).

- Experience managing contractors in the mining or heavy industrial sectors.
- Experience working on large mining or mineral processing facilities.
- Exposure to EPCM or large engineering project environments.
