Our client, a market leader in South African Roadside Assistance Services, is recruiting a permanent Occupational Training Supervisor based in Gauteng.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The AA Training Centre (AATC) provides technical occupational and vocational training to the motor and related industries, including dealers, OEMs and transport companies. It also provides school leavers and unemployed individuals with a professional pathway into motor-related trades.
The Occupational Training Supervisor will work closely with QCTO and SETAs to ensure high standards of teaching, learning, assessment and quality management are implemented and maintained at the AATC.

JOB OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure suitable assessment programmes are in place across all relevant levels and subject areas.
- Coordinate and supervise curriculum planning, delivery and day-to-day training operations.
- Facilitate effective communication between training management and trainers.
- Prepare specifications and budgets for subject-specific tools and equipment.
- Develop and maintain appropriate assessment tools, systems and processes.
- Ensure learners are informed of assessment deadlines, requirements and expectations.
- Use assessment data to inform programme planning and improvements.
- Provide professional support to trainers regarding assessment methods and record keeping.
- Support trainers with professional development, classroom management and learner behaviour.
- Ensure all training-related administration is completed accurately and timeously.
- Participate in the implementation and management of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Keep abreast of developments in the education and training sectors.
- Research new technology and trends relevant to technical training.
- Provide advice and support to staff on classroom management.
- Follow organisational policies and procedures when working with learners.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory bodies, including QCTO and SETAs.
- Assist and guide administrative staff where required.
- Perform other related training duties as assigned by the National Technical Training Manager.

EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified tradesman in a relevant trade, such as Automotive Electrician, Diesel Mechanic and/or Automotive Motor Mechanic.
- Minimum 5 years' technical training experience, including facilitation and coaching, within the motor industry.
- Experience developing technical training materials would be advantageous.
- Experience designing and developing learning interventions and programmes for junior management and general staff.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
- Essential: Qualified Mechanical or Auto Electrical trade.
- Automotive Electrician required; Diesel Mechanic and/or Automotive Motor Mechanic ideal.
- Accredited Assessor qualification essential.
- Accredited Moderator qualification preferred.
- Training-related qualification highly advantageous.
