Salary: R50 000.00 to R70 000 per month depending on Experience
Role Overview
NEC XON is seeking an experienced Nutanix IT Engineer to join their technical team on a 2-year project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management, maintenance, and optimisation of Nutanix infrastructure environments. This role is focused on hands-on support and operational delivery rather than architectural design.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Nutanix HCI environments (AOS, AHV, Prism).
- Monitor, maintain, and optimise virtualised infrastructure performance and availability.
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management for Nutanix environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and virtualisation issues.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and data protection processes.
- Work closely with infrastructure and network teams to maintain system stability.
- Perform incident response, root cause analysis, and problem management.
- Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and operational standards.
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations and operational procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years experience in IT Infrastructure or Virtualisation Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Nutanix HCI environments.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (AHV / VMware / Hyper-V).
- Strong troubleshooting and operational support experience.
- Experience in enterprise infrastructure environments.
Advantageous
- Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) or other Nutanix certifications.
- Experience with enterprise storage, networking, and backup technologies.
- Experience in large enterprise or service provider environment
