POSITION AVAILABLE: Nursing Manager (MATRON - REGISTERED NURSE WITH SANC)
RUSOORD CENTURION OLD AGE HOME:
The successful person will be a SANC registered nurse with empathy and a passion for elderly care & fluent in Afrikaans and English. At least 5 years of experience in frail care centre / old age home requires. Management experience will be extremely advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of quality nursing care according to the Older Persons Act 13 of 2006.
- To ensure that all residents in the old age home and care centre are receiving holistic care in respect of their physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being.
- Managing the administration process of all new admissions.
- Directly responsible for maintaining occupancy and service levels in Frail Care
- Implementation of all applicable nursing policies and procedures
- Reputation management
- Actively manage Frail Care procedures and standards (for example occupancy statistics) and policies for the purpose of ensuring highest quality service delivery
- Management of human resources i.e. nursing staff leave, absenteeism and timekeeping.
- Maintain nursing care standard through continuous assessment of health needs, provision of care, advice, and support to all residents.
- Provide comprehensive assessments to develop, implement, and evaluate an integrated plan of health care, and provide interventions that required substantial scientific and personal knowledge, skills, and clinical decision-making.
- Communication techniques such as conflict resolution, diffusion, and mediation skills.
- Have a commitment to ongoing development of nursing skills and in-service education.
- Be a role model of professional nursing.
- Encourage an environment of collaboration and teamwork.
- Portray and encourage innovative and proactive workplace strategies and actions.
- Awareness of professional responsibility regarding the actions of all nursing and other staff providing care to residents.
- Ability to adapt to adjustment of duties and responsibilities which may evolve as the landscape and requirements change.
- Proficient in MS Office especially Word and Excel.
