About the position
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop new products and innovate existing products as per briefs
Assist Business Unit concerning product innovation, development, research and improvement
Liaise with suppliers on product briefs and timelines
Manage paperwork as required in the product development process
Assist in problem solving that arises on existing products
Develop and maintain specifications for all manufactured products
Implement and update raw material specifications, product formulations and traceability checklists
Implement and maintain the TQFSM NPD System
Participating in taste sessions
Desired Experience & Qualification
Degree/National Diploma in Food Science or Food Technology
proven track record in new product development (3-5 years)
Proven training in product labelling regulations
Proven training in South African food regulations
Experience in processed meat product devevelopment
Technical knowledge on meat processing and product development
Good working knowledge of MS excel and Word
Good administration skill
Ability to work in a team
Quickly learner who is easily adaptable
Ability to work under pressure and on short timelines
Strong moral and ethical standards
Attention to detail
