About the position
We are seeking skilled Onsite Network Engineers to operate and manage the Network Operations Centre (NOC), providing Tier 2 support while supporting the existing permanent team. The role focuses primarily on first-line support calls, with additional involvement in projects, design, deployment, and troubleshooting of both networking and collaboration solutions.
The successful candidates will ensure end-to-end network monitoring, performance, and availability, with a strong emphasis on Cisco networking and collaboration environments.
Responsibilities
- Operate and manage the Network Operations Centre (NOC).
- Provide Tier 2 support for network and collaboration issues.
- Handle and resolve 1st line support calls and incidents.
- Perform end-to-end network monitoring and incident management.
- Participate in network and collaboration projects.
- Design, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot:
- Cisco networking infrastructure
- Cisco Collaboration (CUCM/Voice)
- Support and maintain LAN, WAN, and collaboration systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across security, connectivity, and voice environments.
- Maintain and update technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure optimal system performance and uptime.
Qualifications
- Matric and a Degree
- CCNP Certifications - Mandatory
- CCNP Collaboration (Voice) – Minimum 3 years' practical experience
- CCNP Routing & Switching – Minimum 3 years' practical experience
- CCNP Security – Minimum 3 years' practical experience
Skills
- Practical experience in running and operating a NOC environment.
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- Cisco Collaboration (CUCM/Voice)
- Cisco Routing & Switching technologies
- Network monitoring and incident management systems
- Networking & Security Experience
- Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTDs)
- Cisco AnyConnect (VPN solutions)
- Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure)
- Cisco Wireless infrastructure
Additional experience in:
- Checkpoint Firewalls
- Bluecoat Proxy solutions
