Job Description: Field Services Technician (6 months contract)
We are seeking reliable, technically skilled, and customer-focused Support Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in IT support (basic certifications like A+ are advantageous), possess a roadworthy vehicle, and be willing to travel to various client sites. You must be ITC and CRIM clear, hold a valid driver's license, and be capable of delivering high-quality, hands-on support for hardware installations, maintenance, and fault resolution across a range of products and services. A strong commitment to service excellence, professionalism, and adherence to safety standards is essential.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite technical support across CLIENT'S suite of products and outsourced services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, replace faulty equipment, and ensure all documentation is accurately updated.
- Conduct site inspections and assess readiness for installation, providing detailed designs and specifications.
- Perform installations according to client specifications and verify functionality.
- Deliver on-site customer training post-installation.
- Provide technical maintenance and ensure fault resolution on-site.
- Identify and report trends in faults to Service Manager and Technical Department.
- Assist in multi-party site visits (including Vendors, Financial Institutions, CIT companies).
- Provide specialized support for outsourced cash management clients.
Service Level & Operational Management:
- Meet or exceed SLA benchmarks with CLIENT'S customers.
- Escalate to Helpdesk for simultaneous or critical call requests.
Administrative Duties:
- Complete and submit accurate on-site documentation and case resolutions.
- Attend scheduled internal and external meetings.
- Respond to system alerts, process updates, and operational instructions.
- Utilize CLIENT'S Technician Mobile App to:
- Clock in/out
- Acknowledge assigned cases
- Complete job cards
- Close cases
Minimum Requirements:
- Basic IT and Certification knowledge (A+ Certification advantageous)
- ITC Clear (clean credit record)
- CRIM Clear
- Valid Driver's License
- Roadworthy vehicle required
- Must be willing to travel to client sites
Compensation & Allowances:
- Base Salary: R12,000 per month
- Fuel Allowance: R5,000 per month
- Receipts required for reimbursement
- Vehicle Maintenance: R6,000 per quarter
- Managed and paid by Agency; service/repair proof to be provided
- Vehicle Insurance: R1,000 per month
- Agency to ensure vehicle is insured and supply insurance certificate
- Mobile Phone Allowance: R1,000 per month
- Receipts required for reimbursement
- Commission: R180 per call (once a minimum of 75 calls per month is reached)
