About the position

Our client is looking for a French speaking, Mechanical qualified, New Business Development Engineer/Sales Engineer/Key Account Manager to join their team in the East Rand, Gauteng.
This is a permanent position and you will be targeting French speaking countries in the African continent.

Desired profile:

  • Fluent in French (written, verbal, spoken).
  • Fluent in English (written, verbal, spoken).
  • Valid Passport.
  • SA ID advantageous but open to non-SA citizen.
  • Mechanical qualified/experienced.
  • Provide mechanical application solutions.
  • Sales and annual target driven with an entrepreneurial personality. Self-driven, ability to think independently and able to make reasonable decisions.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work under high service demand pressure.
  • Honest, reliable, transparent, go-getter and teamplayer.

Main functions:

  • Cold calling on new business opportunities in targeted African countries.
  • Provide continuous service to existing key accounts.
  • Working mainly on Power Generation customers, but not limited to and may include Mining and via EPC's.
  • Project sales development and customer engagement as well as after-market service excellence.
  • Well versed with proposals, SOW's, contract negotiation and closing, -as well as country dependent.
  • Work from and update CRM accurately throughout the sales cycle.
  • Compilations of and conduct presentations and product demos to prospective customers in targeted areas.
  • Travel to various African countries as and when required.
  • Sales reporting and forecasting.

Requirements:

  • 5-10+ Years project based sales experience including new business development.
  • Mechanical qualification or training. If not, must understand Mechanical components and the application as to conduct product solution presentations to customers. (Understand the customer needs.)
  • Willingness to travel within Africa on a regular basis (Sleep outs required).
  • Track record of selling and closing Engineering project sales solutions.
  • Strong working knowledge and business relationships with customers in the Power Generation, Energy industries. Mining and Industrial Manufacturing will be advantageous.
  • Meeting and exceeding sales goals and expectations.
  • Solution-led conversation at the C-Suite level.
  • Contract negotiating skills and closing techniques.
