About the position
My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a .NET Developer to join their team on a contract basis.
IT / FINANCE
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (advantageous).
- Strong experience in .NET development (C#, VB.Net, .NET Core, .NET Framework).
- Experience with Python (scripting, automation, data processing, or backend development).
- Solid experience working with SQL Server (essential).
- Proven track record in designing and developing solutions using Microsoft technologies.
- Exposure to AWS (development and deployment) and Azure Power Platform.
- Experience building reporting solutions using Power BI.
- Strong understanding of:
- Software design and architecture
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Source code management
- Process-driven mindset with the ability to understand workflows, dependencies, risks, and ownership.
- Willingness and ability to learn and implement automation tools (e.g., UiPath, Python-based frameworks).
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain .NET applications.
- Develop and maintain Python-based services, scripts, and automation solutions.
- Build and integrate APIs and backend services.
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) for application deployment and management.
- Develop and maintain reporting solutions using Power BI.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver technical solutions.
- Participate in system architecture and design discussions.
- Ensure code quality through best practices, testing, and code reviews.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and solutions.
- Support and troubleshoot existing systems and applications.
