About the position
An established importer is seeking an experienced National Shipping Manager to lead and manage all international sea freight operations.
This role requires a hands on shipping professional with strong knowledge of global logistics, customs processes and port operations.
Requirements:
8 to 10 years of experience in shipping or logistics
Strong knowledge of sea freight and import processes
Experience with customs regulations and port operations
Experience negotiating with shipping lines and logistics partners
Exposure to ShipShape or similar systems
Strong financial and cost management skills
Leadership experience
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end international sea freight operations
Coordinate with global suppliers, shipping lines and freight forwarders
Negotiate freight rates and manage service providers
Oversee customs clearance and ensure regulatory compliance
Manage shipping documentation and cargo releases
Track shipment costs, reconciliations and reporting
Monitor vessel schedules and ensure on-time delivery
Lead and manage shipping and logistics teams
This role is suited to a detail driven shipping professional who can manage complex international logistics and drive efficiency across the supply chain.
